Code of Conduct

All members, including officers, are required to follow this fleet Code of Conduct. If you do not agree with these rules, please do not join the fleet. Any violations are grounds for removal from the fleet, at the discretion of fleet staff. If you have any questions regarding the Code of Conduct, or any other fleet policy, please contact an officer.

Every member is expected to:
  • Fully respect every member of the fleets and behave in a mature manner at all times. This includes, but is not limited to, acting maturely in STFs, respectfully chatting with other fleetmates, giving positive advice instead of destructive criticism, and positively representing yourself with other players outside the fleet.
  • Understand that the fleet has a ZERO TOLERANCE policy in regards to discrimination. This includes, but is not limited to, any discrimination based on age, sex, race, religion, nationality, sexual identity or orientation, creed, political ideology, etc. This is grounds for immediate removal, regardless of cause (e.g. argument, jokes, etc.).
  • Refrain from any kind of drama. Drama is usually unnecessary, so please do not create any.
  • Observe a general "PG-13" demeanor while participating publically in the fleet. Excessive swearing, disrespect, sexual content, etc. is grounds for warning and/or removal.
  • Follow the established command structure of the fleet. Although the fleet is casual, all members are expected to follow the guidance of any officer.
  • Allow any other fleet member to participate in publicly announced games. That means if you advertise your STF/game publicly in fleet chat, you must take any member that wants to go (until the game is full, obviously). If you prefer to have a select/preferred team, arrange that privately. Discrimination against other members is not tolerated.
  • Suppress any "elitism" feelings. This fleet is all-inclusive and has a wide range of skill levels. Disrespect against any other member for a lesser (or different) playing ability is grounds for immediate removal. Constructive criticism can be a good thing, but be mindful of how your audience will receive your advice.
  • Report any problems or concerns you have to an officer. Putting members in "ignore" setting is not acceptable, you should report all issues to the staff. If the subject of your concern is an officer themself, please contact the First Officer or Fleet Commander.
Although this list is intended to be reasonably comprehensive of the core concepts of our Code of Conduct, it is the right of every officer to interpret, apply, or expand on-the-fly this Code of Conduct as they see fit. Any concerns or questions about an officer's application of these rules should be directed to the First Officer or Fleet Commander.

Code of Conduct Enforcement Common Policy

In addition, here are specific policies regarding the Code of Conduct and member behavior enforcement. These policies apply to both Access Denied and Naw'Tem equally and are shared between the fleets administratively.
  • No member may be prevented from rejoining either fleet without an official ban. If a member/player is not on the banlist, they must be permitted to rejoin both fleets if they request to do so, not withstanding capacity limitations (i.e. 500 members) of the fleet. The banlist is common to both Access Denied and Naw'Tem; separate banlists will not be maintained or permitted.
  • Disciplinary action against a member in either fleet must follow these requirements: Ambassadors may only remove a player in the chat channel and/or advise them on any bad conduct. If a member needs to be removed from the fleet, that must be forwarded to a Staff Officer or above for handling and official removal/banning. Ambassadors (or equivalent "entry level" officers if rank structures are different across the fleets) do not have kick/removal privileges in either fleet. Any official disciplinary action taken against a member, whether banned or not, MUST be documented on the common Member Enforcement staff forums. Each member has a right to be informed of the reason for their ban.
  • Every member that received a removal/ban from the fleet has the right to appeal that decision to the Fleet Commanders. FCs of each fleet will confer and come to a mutual decision whether to uphold or overturn the ban. That decision by the FCs will be final.
For other fleet policies beyond member Code of Conduct, please see our Fleet Policies page.
